Presentation :
Champagne RUTAT, harvesters handling in Vertus since 1960, converted to organic viticulture in 2016, under the impetus of Michel RUTAT, who passed on his passion for vines and wine to his two sons, Baptiste and Flavien.
Michel, wishing to let his terroir express itself and limit his impact on the environment, started working the soil again in the 90s. In 2016, with the arrival of Baptiste and Flavien, the decision was taken to convert the entire vineyard to Organic Viticulture.
The vineyard is planted with 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir, spread over the communes of VERTUS, BERGÈRE and VOIPREUX.
Since 2017, Baptiste and Flavien have decided to return to barrel vinification.
The two brothers want to take their approach a step further with cuvées vinified with indigenous yeasts and no added sulfur.
A few bottles will be available soon.
