The Association of Organic Champagnes was delighted to meet Luc Gaspard and Emmanuelle Roux, heads of the Agriculture and Rural Areas department at the Aube Departmental Directorate for Territories, the right-hand arm of the Aube Prefecture!
This meeting provided an opportunity to discover the organic and biodynamic Champagne FLEURY vineyard, presented by Jean-Sébastien Fleury, president of the ACB, and to discuss the challenges facing organic viticulture in Champagne.
Discussions focused in particular on:
đż The Association, its missions, and its upcoming technical, promotional, economic and trade union projectsâŠ
đ€Ż The difficulties faced on the ground by organic winegrowers,
đŁïž The challenges in convincing Champagne wine producers who are not yet committed to organic farming,
đ° Financial aid and support schemes available from the State that could be utilised,
âïž The importance of strengthening communication between our organisations
đŁ This meeting with the Stateâs decentralised services marks an important milestone for the ACB.
In particular, it contributes to the ACBâs gradual establishment as a recognised and representative body for organic winegrowers in the Champagne region đŸđż and as one of the institutional links essential to the preservation of biodiversity đł and water resources đŠ, as well as to the necessary and urgent regional ecological transition. đš
đ The ACB would like to extend its warmest thanks to Mr Gaspard and Ms Roux for their willingness to listen, their availability, their interest in organic viticulture and their commitment to supporting all stakeholders in the region.
Letâs work together to promote organic Champagne!
