Presentation :

New generation, Virginie Bergeronneau mixes the traditional through her history and the will to magnify her terroir thanks to a stability of biodiversity. This is why she is also a beekeeper and her hives are placed in the family vineyards in order to judge the stability of the biodiversity of her plots. Her convictions led her to have her farm certified in organic viticulture since 2023. In 2025, her first organic champagnes will arrive. She is proud to have 2 distinct terroirs which brings a diversity to her champagnes. Part of its plots are located on the Montagne de Reims on rather clay-limestone lands and the other part on the Massif de Saint-Thierry on rather sandy-silty lands. Le Meunier is representative of these 2 sectors but that does not prevent it from working Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Her history has allowed it to be an independent winegrower today. Through this family heritage, she wants to show the presence of women in the winemaking profession over different eras. Her ancestors arrived in the 16th century in Champagne working as wine workers while passing through coopers, to arrive at the beginning of the 20th century as cooperators and in the 90s her parents became independent winegrowers.
