Presentation :

In the heart of Champagne, in the sumptuous village of Avize, lies Domaine Waris-Larmandier. This astonishing family operation combines art and nature in an atypical spirit.

Let me tell you a little about them.

The company was founded in 1989. Since 2000, Marie-Hélène has maintained continuity with her three children Jean-Philippe, Pierre-Louis and Inès, making up the sixth generation of winegrowers. The aspiration of this exceptional quartet is to combine ancient know-how with contemporary practices. The family spirit has evolved with the arrival of a new practice: biodynamic viticulture. A new philosophy determined to offer exceptional champagnes.

“Look deep into nature, and then you’ll understand everything better”.

Albert Einstein

After the quality of their Champagnes, the very essence of the Waris-Larmandier family is their sense of relationship: singular, faithful and genuine with their public. It’s a pleasure to meet them.

Let yourself be carried away by the expression of their wines. Then you’ll understand what makes them so special: respect for values, the resonance of soils, the whisper of juices, the expression of tastes and the affirmation of the pleasures that are yours. These values are the hallmarks of the Maison Waris-Larmandier and are reflected in its Champagnes: strength, character and originality.

Tradition

This word evokes values within the family, respect for elders and the inheritance of a heritage. It’s a knowledge, a way of life that we must follow and preserve. Their tradition is a foundation that is passed down from generation to generation. They grew up in a Champagne family, where work and family life are intertwined. The winegrower is a man of the soil, forged by manual labor and hardened by the elements. In these Champagne lands, between small country villages and undulating valleys of vines, where they have known how to flourish.

“Congratulate yourself on having done something strange and extravagant that has broken the monotony of your time”.

Ralph Wald Emerson

Terroir

The precious soil of Champagne produces surprising and varied wines. Waris-Larmandier’s vineyards are concentrated in the Grands Crus of the Côte des Blancs, in the villages of Chouilly, Cramant, Avize, Oger and Mesnil-sur-Oger. This terroir, essentially Chardonnay, gives their Champagnes freshness, elegance and finesse. As for the Aubois terroirs: Avirey-Lingey, Bar-sur-Seine and Éguilly-Sous-Bois, and those of the Montagne de Reims: Bligny and Chamery. They offer a fruity, herbal touch.

Environment

We’re talking about nature, of course. Nature is a source of immeasurable resources. It’s also a place of calm and meditation to be respected. This philosophy is biodynamics. Between biocenosis and biotope, knowing how to analyze and understand the environment around us, it’s a return to our roots, to the truth of a terroir.
